So since its constitution week it gets you thinking about our great country. Also, I now serve in scouts. They mentioned how some of our Flags we use need to be mended (we put up in neighborhood as fundraiser).
A great service project for the scouts would be to help repair mend flags so they can continue to use those flags.
As an activity, you could start off reading “The Flag Maker” great book about Mary Pickersgil, the woman who
actually sewed the flag that inspired our
national anthem “Star Spangled Banner”.

Francis Scott Key was taken prisoner on a British Ship, those soilders were forced to work on ships against Americans. During the Battle with Fort McHenry, Scott saw the flag through the gun fire.
